Synopsis

Takagi Sōma is an “ALIUS”—a new kind of human with a different DNA type from ordinary Homo sapiens, born with the power to control other people. Ordered by his father never to use that ability, he has lived a “normal,” happy life with his parents. That ends when his father is accused of embezzling one billion yen. His father dies by suicide in detention, and upon hearing the news, his mother takes her own life as well, leaving Sōma completely alone while still in high school. In the depths of despair, Sōma finds a notebook his father left behind. Inside are the names of influential local figures and records of illicit funds. Convinced his father was framed, Sōma happens to encounter a powerful conglomerate heir—who shares his exact same name—but is lying in a vegetative state. “If I had his identity, I could get close to the people who ruined my father…” To uncover the truth behind the case, Sōma resolves to break his father’s rule and use his forbidden power, stepping onto a path of calculated possession and relentless revenge.
